There comes a time in life when we start to wonder who we are and why we do the things we do. Why do I drum? Drumming was probably the first instrument people used for communication and in various rituals. It also symbolises the heart beats - and they are of essential meaning...and I guess that's why I drum - it's of essential meaning to me personally, because when I drum, I connect to my inner self in a special way, and all kinds of unexplainable energies are being released and I believe, also, that they make me a better person as a whole. I contributed a lot of myself to the bands I have been working with and I feel the time has come for me to pass on some of my knowledge to other people - that's why I started tutoring drumming, especially metal drumming, since I didn't have an opportunity to have my own metal drumming teacher at the beginning of my musical career! |
